First-Aid Reminders for the Finish
- Tons of fluids including electrolytes — Many riders suffer from dehydration, cramping, nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness and weakness due to not taking in enough fuel and fluids. Please make sure you eat and drink enough throughout the day.
- Proper eye/sweat protection — Some riders suffer from blurred or lost vision during the ride. Some theories are insufficient eye protection for so many miles of wind and grime, or sunscreen melting into the eyes. Either way, it tends to go away with rest and irrigation. Be prepared to flush the eyes with water.
